In most of my older Altec information, Altec actually crossed over both of these horns at around HZ. I’ve use horns in boxes for decades and never noticed any ringing.

I haven’t upgraded, but they’ve given me many years of great service. You can also do what Altec did on later s where they didn’t alhec the joints in the vanes but instead filled the gap with some kind of rubber. Measured outside, still nothing really below 60hz.

Parts Express has plenty of compression drivers. I’ll have to compare them to those old Altecs, someday, though I don’t have the cabinets anymore, unforunately.
